The ‘Super-Ideal’ cut appeals to those purists of the diamond world because it creates a balance that allows the greatest brilliance and fire simultaneously. The American Gemmological Society (AGS) has released a set of formulae that they consider ‘super-ideal’ only when these formulae are applied and the stone is precision-cut to exacting symmetry will the diamond display exquisitely uniform Hearts & Arrows.
When looked through a special loop the diamond displays eight precisely shaped arrows from the top of the diamond, and eight precisely shaped hearts from the bottom.
